Coaching Requirements
Orillia soccer appreciates that great coaching leads to a great soccer experience for kids. That's why we support coach development.
House league requirements
- No coaching qualification required
- For a better coaching experience ODSC encourages new coaches to participate in the following seminars full of great ideas and teaching concepts:
- U4-U5 complete the Active Start course
- U6-U7 complete the FUNdamentals course
- U9-U12 complete the Learn to Train course
- The ODSC will reimburse the cost of the coarse taken upon completion
- Coaches are required to have a Vulnerable Sector Check completed every third year of coaching. For more information and forms click: Police Check Info.
Travel and Competitive Teams
- Competitive- Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches
- Must have Respect In Sport, Soccer for Life, Making Ethical Decision + Making Headway
- Developmental League- Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches U9-U12
- Must have Learn to Train (or Soccer for Life) + Making Ethical Decisions + Respect in Sport + Making Headway
- Recreational League- Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches U13 and Up
- Must have Soccer for Life + Making Ethical Decision + Respect in Soccer + Making Headway
- The ODSC will reimburse the cost of the coarse taken upon completion
- Travel Team Coaches are required to provide a completed Vulnerable Sector Check on year 1 of coaching, declaration of a clean record check year 2, declaration of a clean record check year 3 and a renewal of a Vulnerable Sector Check on year 4. For more information click: Police Check Info.
